This Privacy Policy describes how Field Vision ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Field Vision mobile application ("the App") and related services at fieldvision.site.

Summary

• We collect only the data needed to operate the App: your account details, the field submissions you create (photos, videos, form data), and the location and device metadata attached to those submissions.
• We do not sell your data, do not use it for advertising, and do not track you across other apps or websites.
• You can delete your account and associated data directly in the App at any time.

Data We Collect

Account information

• Name and email address, provided when you create an account.
• A user identifier assigned to your account (via Firebase Authentication).

Field submissions

• Photos and videos you capture in the App for submissions.
• Form data, annotations, and drawings you add to submissions.
• Capture metadata embedded with each submission, including date/time, device model, camera/lens information, and image properties (EXIF).

Location

• Precise location, collected only while you are using the App, to sort nearby sites and attach capture location metadata to your field submissions. The App requests "When In Use" location permission and does not collect location in the background.

Diagnostics

• Crash reports and diagnostic data (via Firebase Crashlytics) used to identify and fix problems with the App.

How We Use Your Data

We use the data above solely to provide App functionality:

• Authenticating you and managing your account.
• Storing and syncing your field submissions to your organization's workspace.
• Associating submissions with the correct site, project, and capture location.
• Diagnosing crashes and improving App reliability.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or cross-app tracking, and we do not sell it to third parties.

Data Sharing

Your data is shared only with:

• Your organization: Submissions you create are visible to authorized members of the organization and projects you belong to.
• Service providers: We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Crashlytics) and Google Cloud infrastructure to operate the service. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

We may also disclose information if required by law.

Data Retention

• Account data and submissions are retained while your account is active.
• Crash and diagnostic data is retained according to Firebase Crashlytics' standard retention periods.
• When you delete your account, your data is deleted as described below.

Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your account from within the App (Account settings → Delete Account). Deletion requires re-entering your password and removes:

• Your authentication account and profile.
• Your organization and project memberships.
• Saved lists you own.

If you are unable to access the App, you can request deletion by contacting us at privacy@fieldvision.site.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, use the in-App account tools or contact us at privacy@fieldvision.site.

Permissions the App Requests

• Camera — to capture photos and videos for submissions.
• Microphone — to record video with sound.
• Location (While Using) — to sort nearby sites and attach capture location metadata to submissions.

Each permission is optional and requested in-context; denying a permission limits only the related feature.

Children's Privacy

The App is intended for professional field use and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored on Google Cloud infrastructure with access restricted to authorized organization members and service operations.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy at this URL and revise the effective date above. Material changes will be communicated in the App.
